Hi there council, this is Shar Thompson l, the Central Valley Regional Coordinator with Tenants Together. I am in agreement with the other residents that took the courage to submit an comment. I believe that we not only need to allocate the 250K towards the EPP program, but I feel that we need transparency and oversight for this program to understand how in a year that there has been a slight decrease in crisis calls fr9m Fresno there has been over 100% of support that was claimed by our contracted attorneys. Tenants Together also supported section 8 Tenants by organizing them so they can stay housed when Emerzian and Shankar suggested that they move out because they were not covered by the Tenant Protection Act. I'm hoping that council will take the time to meet with organizations that are doing the work on the ground to better the programs here in Fresno. Thank you.

The Eviction Protection Program is one crucial arm in the multifaceted need to prevent people from being displaced and potentially losing permanent housing. Priority needs to be given to not only protect but expand this program, in budget and scope, to ensure that people know where to go and receive the aid they need to prevent illegal evictions.

My name is Brianna and I support funding for the Eviction Protection Program because rent has continuously been going on due to inflation. Because inflation has been and will most likely continue to increase. Families, mostly those of lower income will obviously face struggles in paying their expensive rent. With the fundings for the Eviction Protection Program, these families won’t have to worry so much about becoming homeless. I’m sure the city wouldn’t like the idea of having more families on the streets that’ll affect their image.

i support the eviction policy because i believe everyone should have the right to have help if needed. For example, many families don’t have the money to get kicked out of their homes due to poor job payments so it will be helpful if they need help with money.

I support this because there are many residents that don’t know their rights. Meaning this action will help them know their legal rights and will give them a better understanding. We don’t want our citizens to be dealing with situations like that. If those land lords were to evacuate and kick those residents renting the house, it would be a major problem. Those many not have the money to get a lawyer to help them stand their statement.

I support the appropriation of $250,000 to continue the program. I believe that the people should be presented an attorney so that they know their rights and gain the knowledge to determine if the eviction is legal or not legal and it is a great way to provide to the families who can't afford to pay for attorneys and fail to realize that what they are facing may not even be legal.

I support because it’s is important that students and citizens are safe and protected and have a place to stay. This is also important because it helps people understand that they have rights.

Hi my name is karla vargas and im 17 years old.
I believe that we should continue supporting the eviction notice plan and give $250,000 towards it. My Pamily Is cumently baying off a house they bought zo years ago. If we were to get evictied we wouldn't be able to afford an attorney to know what actions we would reco to take. This could relp people get back on their feet.

I support the funding to continue with this program because it will be beneficial for the people who are struggling with eviction. Also because it can be helpful for people who don't have enough money to pay for rent.
