2.-C. ID 25-197 ***Bill B-2 (Introduced January 30, 2025)(For Adoption) Amending Section 10-2204(a) of the Fresno Municipal Code, Relating to the Pre-Removal Notice (Subject to Mayor's Veto)
I understand that this amendment was made to clarify language and I appreciate that detail.
Again, as I had stated when it was first presented, this is a portion of the municipal code that the City of Fresno does not follow. In other jurisdictions, there is notice, often posted. Rarely do those who are unsheltered and have their belongings removed get notice. In addition, and very importantly, their belongings are not stored. Since the notice, I witnessed a removal of possessions where the person wanted their belongings stored and this was not followed. This included a wheelchair and belonging, including their blankets and sleeping bag that were already stacked on a pull cart (not shopping cart) that the individual could have easily removed from the location. This corroborates with other instances I have witnessed and what people throughout the city has verbalized to myself and city officials.
