My roommate and I have applied for the Fresno Rental Assistance Program back in August of 2020. I have reached out to Mr. Bredefeld’s Office and spoke with his staff, Mr. Gai. He referred me to several different programs, The Fresno Center, West Fresno Regional, and Jakara. I have not heard back from anyone except Fresno Center. Fresno Center said to complete the application and provide the rental agreement, and property manager’s paperwork. Finally, in late September, my roommate received a letter from Fresno Center to complete additional paperwork and return on top of what has already been submitted in early September. Since then, we have not heard from anyone. It is now November and we are behind in rent approximately $3,600. According to our landlord we have until January 31, 2021 to pay the remaining balance. We are unable to pay this because I am disabled and unemployed and my roommate’s job was affective by COVID. We just want to survive and would like someone to return our call and get back to us as soon as possible.
