The fourteenth amendment was a reconstructive amendment that guaranteed citizenship rights and equal protection. Many in society earned their income in ways that no longer coincide with social distancing laws and many are no longer able to fulfill their basic financial needs. As these restrictions are government demanded, the government should aid those who are suffering. To fill this need the CARES act provides crucial supplemental support for many who are inhibited from working in this pandemic (such as those that are too high risk and those that live with the high risk and can not risk bringing the virus home) and for those jobs that can not continue because they do not coincide with the pandemic restrictions/ social distancing.
