I oppose this. It is a waste of the council’s time since the Mayor and City Manager can reimpose these orders immediately following approval of this resolution.

    Councilmen Bredefeld, this is dangerous.

I understand that small business owners have had a terrible time getting loans from the federal, local, and county and that we look ridiculous in comparison to other countries that are doing a much better job of keeping their unemployment rates low during this crisis. But that does not justify endangering our friends, neighbors, and family essential workers and not that are elderly, have chronic respiratory illnesses such as asthma, have serious heart conditions, and have other illnesses such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, severe obesity, or are immunocompromised.

If you want to help our small businesses enough to potentially endanger their customers, employees, family, and friends then do what you can to help the $3 trillion stimulus bill get passed in the senate. That bill includes funding to contact tracing, extension of the coronavirus unemployment benefits program from July to Jan. 2021, a 2nd $1200 stimulus check for Americans, and a TON of funding that can help the citizens of our valley. If you could get this stimulus bill passed in the Senate somehow, you might just prove all of us Bredefeld haters wrong.

I dare you to impress me.
