I’m surprised that I’ve been in agreement with many items Ms Perea has addressed, but this agenda item she is submitting for transferring $100,000.00 to the LGBTQ seems like more of a personal interest item that would supersede more much NEEDED and IMPORTANT areas that we citizens pay for with our tax dollars. Tax dollars are to be spent on items that benefit ALL citizens and not narrowed to specialized groups whatever they may be. I am really taken aback that such a proposition would even be considered by our Council. I do not judge people as I think that’s a huge problem with this world, so don’t add to the problem this creates. Thank you.

    Good morning,
Reallocating $70000 from the General Fund while we have current debt such as "Pave Now, Pay Later," bills from Granite Park takeover and upgrades, and (without sounding like a bleeding heart)- currently such an animal population crisis this money could be put towards spay/neutral in neighborhoods in south Fresno to assist with the overpopulation. Council budgets exist for their districts, and if they choose to spend that on outreach and marketing flyers for their personal campaigns rather than putting that money towards LGBTG grant program, that is their choice. Taxpayer money should benefit ALL such as the three items mentioned above everyone should have access to, not a select demographic in Fresno.
I would even rather see 70K from general fund be distributed to all areas within PARCS to continue to supplement sports waiver fees for children so all our youth have a shot at creating memories, as I know these Measure P buckets can only support so much.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this as I am looking from a "one Fresno" perspective and not "one demographic."

I strongly oppose the City reallocating $70,000 from General Fund and $30,000 from the Community Benefit Fund for the 2027 LGBTQ Grant Program. The $100,000 funding allocation would better serve the community via almost anything else (roads, parks, housing, etc.) Once everything is 100% solved for then the city can fund boutique interests.
