Why is the city of Fresno paying extra money for a lobbyist? The city of Fresno already pays membership dues to the league of California cities. If the city of Fresno is going to be a member of the league of California cities then it shouldn’t seek outside lobbyists. The city of Fresno is already facing a lot of budget problems so it doesn’t make sense to pay an outside lobbyist almost $400,000 for three years of services and an annual league of California cities membership fee of $105,000+ to lobby for the same things. I would only support one or the other, not both.
